Contemporary, Functional Ceramic Art Collection
After formal studies at the Camberwell College of Arts, I pursued an apprenticeship in Stoke-on-Trent to further my training as a potter during the early nineties. I established a London-based studio in 1997. The cultural influences of Far Eastern ceramics have always informed my work. In recent years however, influences have become increasingly 'non-ceramic'; urushi (Japanese lacquerware) for its phenomenal levels of craftsmanship, and a long sideways glance towards European Modernism; both influences seemingly contradictory in their ways, but nonetheless urbane.
