Laura Casas

My pottery is hand-built from red earthenware; pinched, coiled and decorated with an array of colored slips and underglazes. I aim to create wares that resonate with the user while expressing my individual inherited cultural memory through narrative and latent energies. I acknowledge not only my own identity as a contemporary latine individual, but engage with indigenous influences and history through my forms, clay choice, color palette and techniques.
