Contemporary, Functional Ceramic Art Collection
HP Bloomer IV is a Texas ceramic artist who received his BFA and MFA from the University of North Texas. His work focuses on functional wares that draw inspiration from architecture, fashion, historic ceramic traditions, and an interest in the ecology and indigenous plant life of North Texas. He has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Colorado Mountain College and Mendocino College and has been a Artist in Residence at the Carbondale Clay Center, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, and Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project. From 2014-2016 he was the Studio Director for Santa Fe Clay and has also been the Studio Manager/Tech at The Carbondale Clay Center, and Cobb Mountain Art & Ecology Project. Presently, he teaches workshops at colleges and craft schools around the country and has had work and articles published in Lark’s 500 Teapots, iPotter: The Art of contemporary, Studio Potter, Ceramics Monthly. His work is exhibited around the country and has been shown internationally. He currently makes work from his home studio in Denton Texas and sells through his online shop and at Anderson Ranch Art Center, Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, The Carbondale Clay Center, and Lillstreet Art Center.
