Contemporary, Functional Ceramic Art Collection
Based in the small seaside town of Enniscrone in Sligo, Ireland, Dee Quinn hand builds all of her work using terracotta clay. She uses slab building and pinching techniques to create shape and form. Coloured slips and underglazes are then used to decorate each piece. Inspired by the old farm buildings and deserted cottages that surround her, Dee applies the slips at the leather hard stage to enhance texture and to create a weathered appearance. Most of her ceramics are functional but yet each piece of pottery is also a unique work of art.
